I have been thinking about this for a while now and it's only recently that I came up with a constructive suggestion.

I was always wondering what could be done to the "practically unused" walls in the red cave. You know, the ones in the middle of the red cave? Well the solution is simple: get rid of them!

It would be awesome to have this huge red cave where all the surrounding walls would be use to boulder up to the ceiling. I think space could be use much more efficiently this way. Right now, there are only 2 walls in the red cave that are really being use. The upside down stairs, which are awesome, are used occasionally, but when there are people climbing the other 2 walls, there is not much room left to fall down....especially with the other wall in the middle of the cave!

Anyway, that is one suggestion, tell me what you think!

The center wall was used much more when there were problems set on them (hint to staff ...). The wall opposite the 45 degree wall is at a good angle for some nice technical balancy problems on less than ideal hands. The opposite side is good as a beginner's intro to overhangs. Besides, they make good back rests while you are waiting to climb something.

The notched wall (or lowball roof) opposite that wall however is used mostly by kids trying to span the walls. Something more interesting could definitely be put there (I have heard staff stating the same thing).

I also have not had issues with fall space for the most part, even with both sides of a wall in use. I generally pay attention to who is around me though, so won't climb directly behind someone on the facing wall.

My last point is that removing that wall and adding climbing across the entire roof would actually be a loss of climbing surface area. So I guess again I'll mention that having set problems there would attract usage. I guess that I can hope that the staff will read this as they are setting for the upcoming comp Wink (which is not yet posted on this forum for some reason). This forum seems to be in a bit of a lull though.

The above is just my opinion on the matter, so take it all with a grain of salt.
