Very nice. Watching the slideshow of the pictures you took was like being at the comp all over again! I have a question - what kind of camera/lens/settings did you use? _________________ RckStarNot |

The camera was set to shutter priority mode and the lens was auto focus, so it gave us quicker adjustment than manual while captured the objects in motion.
Personally, I strongly opposed using flashing lights to enhance the brightness that it's harmful to ppl's eyes and came out with color distortion. Reflecting pad is the best in the dark area.
Anyway, I post the general settings of most of my pictures for ppl's references.
Camera Model
Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT
Shutter Speed
1/25 Sec.
Aperture Value
F5.6
Metering Mode
Evaluative metering
Exposure Compensation
0
ISO Speed
1600
Lens
18-55mm
Focal length
55.0mm
Flash
Off |

Thanks. Is it even possible to take decent pictures using a flash with all that chalk floating around That's always been my problem but I'm using a lower end cannon that has the flash too close to the lens so all my pics turn out full of white chalk floating around (so I end up not using the flash). I've seen people running their flash on a seperate tripod so it doesn't reflect as much. I'm curious, does your Rebel manage okay with the flash on when the gym is busy? _________________ RckStarNot |

Lucky, I double checked the raw pictures, my pictures are ok in most of the area even inside the red cave while Dustin and Ayo were trying to crash the wall. I knew this problem that Iris told me right before the comp began. I was worried about this cuz I didn't prepare for such kind of circumstances that lots of chalks and dust flowing around. I am not an expert yet.
I think just becuz I didn't use flash, which saved me for the big day. By theory, chalks will scatter lights. So, whatever what kind of camera will end up in the same trouble of using flashing.
Ill upgrade my lens next time. So, I will be able to get some close-up views. |
